Why should I see a Chiropractor?

Chiropractic strives to help the body adapt to stress by removing interference caused by minor subluxations in the spinal column. Everyone is prone to these stresses from many different aspects of life, including physical trauma, chemical stress from things like poor air quality or chemicals in food, or simply the mental stress from the rigors of everyday life.

What is a subluxation?

The spinal cord has 31 spinal nerves which exit from between the spinal bones. Although the spinal column offers protection to these sensitive spinal nerves, this delicate balance can be disrupted when the spinal bones become displaced. Such spinal bone displacements are called subluxation.

What happens when I have a subluxation?

A subluxation not only inhibits range of motion and mobility of the spine, but also causes nervous system interference which inhibits the vital communication between your brain and the rest of your body.

What are the causes of subluxations?

Subluxations can be caused by physical, biochemical, and psychological stress that exceed your body’s ability to adapt.

How does a Chiropractor remove these subluxations?

Chiropractor’s will use a method called “adjusting” to remove the subluxations.  An adjustment is the gentle and specific application of a force to the spine to restore normal spinal and nervous system function.

I don’t have any pain in my back or neck.  Should I still see a Chiropractor?

Chiropractic care is not only for those who are in pain, but is for anyone who wants to live their life to their fullest potential!  Having a nervous system free from interference helps your body perform at it’s best.  Many professional athletes depend on chiropractic to keep them performing at an elite level, even though they are extremely healthy individuals.  Additionally, if you wait until symptoms show up, quite often detrimental health problems are already affecting you.  It’s just like getting a regular tune-up for your car, but for your body!
